Enabling Hope: Domestic violence donation matching campaign
Fall is a time of year when the leaves are turning, children are returning to school, and many of us are taking comfort in the familiar routines of the season. As the weather cools, home is where we find warmth and connection with loved ones. However, for people experiencing domestic violence, home isn’t always safe.
That is why the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters (ACWS) is appealing to us to donate during their fall campaign. Through our gifts to ACWS, we can provide hope and help support our work to end violence against women and seniors. This year, thanks to EPCOR’s Heart + Soul Fund donation matching, our gift goes even further.
From now until the end of the 2022, the Heart + Soul Fund will match donations up to a total of $20,000. These funds will go toward initiatives such as worksite domestic violence responder training, enhancing economic security for women in the shelter, building on the children’s curriculum for young people with lived experience of domestic violence, and expanding work to support Truth and Reconciliation.
