Affiliate Finance Information

Affiliation fees to the federation fall into 3 categories; monthly per capita, yearly political action levy and a constitutional commitment to the Alberta Workers’ Health Centre.

Our monthly per cap fees are set at our biennial convention. As per section 1.13.2 of our current constitution, the per capita for 2024 will be $1.31 per member per month. This money is allocated and reported on in our operational budget. The AFL Executive Committee, with recommendation from our AFL Finance Committee or elected officers, approve the budget and allocations of addition funds.

The yearly political action levy outlined in our constitution in section 1.13.2 (a). The yearly levy is $2.00 per member per year. We also have an additional voluntary $1.00 per member per year levy that is allocated for democracy, advocacy, and engagement (DAE) work.
