United Way of the Alberta Capital Region’s Period Promise works to ensure access to free menstrual products as a step toward creating menstrual equity. Without easy access to period products, people who menstruate may have to miss work and risk their health by using DIY period products. The Period Promise Pledge states that signatories “recognize [they] are contributing to the reduction of period poverty, de-stigmatizing menstruation, and working towards helping more people get access to the products they count on. [They] appreciate that providing free, accessible, and diverse menstrual products will be an investment in the overall health and well-being of our community and will help de-stigmatize the need for others in our communities.”
The AFL will be collecting period products at MTF!
